Pomegranates are a fruit filled with beneficial antioxidants. You can eat them out of hand, cutting them into sections and separating out the edible arils, which contain the juice and seeds, from the membranes and peel. They go well with all types of meat dishes, make delicious beverages and deserts and add color and flavor when sprinkled on top of salads. Like all fruits, pomegranates contain natural sugars.
