Researchers found that language proficiency was only mentioned in half of the 58 RCTs studied when making decisions about patient eligibility. All high-recruiting studies were US-based and has a larger proportion of BAME individuals compared to the other countries. To minimize the possibility of patients being unfairly excluded from RCTs a practical language assessment tool should be developed according to Dr Isaacs.
