A falsified drug study done by Glaxo-Smith Klein, claimed that the drug, paroxetine, also known as paxil or Seroxat was generally well tolerated in children and adolescents. This lead to some two-million youngsters being prescribed the pill. This study did not take in the fact that it may cause serious side effects such as suicide. A further study was done that showed the drug was no more effective than a placebo. Glaxo Smith Kline was fined 3 billion dollars for one of the biggest frauds in American Healthcare history.
