New study finds low vitamin D status highly prevalent in professional basketball players

A recent study published by the journal of sports medicine suggests that 80 percent of professional basketball players are vitamin D deficient. Vitamin D is associated with sports performance. Vitamin D is linked with improved vertical jump,height, exercise capacity and sprint times among athletes. Basketball players relay on type 2 muscle fibers for their performance.
